Most schools require that prospective students take a test to measure their level of college readiness. Most commonly known is the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), developed by College Board. College Board also conducts the Preliminary SAT (PSAT) which serves as a practice test, as well as the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship for juniors.

The American College Test (ACT) is another test to measure college readiness. The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in English, mathematicsreading, and science (writing optional).

SAT Subject Tests
SAT Subject tests may or may not be required depending on the colleges in which you intend on applying. Also, if you take IBC III or honors credit at ASD, the Biology-E, Biology-M, or Chemistry subject test is required.
